Day 1- Welcome to Tanzania

• Arrival Day to Arusha & meeting at the hotel.

Day 2- Kilimanjaro ascent Day 1

• Arriving at the park gate.
• From the gate (1800m) to the Machame Hut camping site (3000m), through a forest.

Climb: 1200m, Walking time: 4 to 5 hours.

Day 3- Kilimanjaro ascent Day 2

• Path road along a lava ridge.
• Views: Kibo + Meru peaks.
• Odd zigzag to the edge of the lava plateau of Shira.
• Camp (3840m) near a large cave.

Climb: 840m, Walking time: 4 to 5 hours.

Day 4- Kilimanjaro ascent Day 3

• Continue the road to the walls of Western Breach.
• Lava Tower (4600m), Barranco Hut(3950m), Breach Wall, Heim & Decken glaciers.

Climb: 160m, Descend: 650 m, Walking time: 7 to 8 hours.

Day 5- Kilimanjaro ascent Day 4

• Crossing the valley & scrambling up to the Barranco wall.
• View of the Heim glacier.
• Karanga Valley, short climb to the Karanga campsite.
• Final stretch of the approach followed by a rocky wind-beaten ridge under the south flank

of kibo.

• Camping in Barafu Hut (4500 m).

Climb: 850m, Descend: 200m, walking time: 7 to 8 hours.

Day 6- Kilimanjaro ascent Day 5

• Rebmann glacier, Stella Point (5795 m), Uhuru Peak (5895m).
• Descent: Back to Barafu for lunch, Mweka for camping.

Climb: 1295 m, Descend: 2795 m, walking time: 10 to 14 hours.

Day 7- Descent from Kilimanjaro

• Descend through the forest to the park gate (1500 m).
• Transfer by vehicles to the hotel in Arusha.

Descend: 1600 m, walking time: 3 to 4 hours.
